Director, East African Community Region
Lorna is a Kenyan, who discovered her passion for finance and business during her stint working at a retail bank in Nairobi, Kenya. She is an individual who is able to build relationships, trust and rapport with almost anyone, and is then able to broker the relationship and make connections between people, creating partnerships and alliances, and motivating ‘forward momentum’ to get things done. She is distinguished by her commitment to meeting client and market demands.
As a young African who was raised and worked in Africa, she knows first-hand that opportunities to profit in Africa exist in infrastructure and robust demand for consumer goods and services from a growing middle class. Challenges to investing in Africa remain, but investors who can overcome the challenges will find superior investment prospects. She approaches each new business challenge with her intrinsic flair in innovation, creative problem solving and measured risk taking to drive consistent bottom line improvements and shareholder returns.
She counts herself very lucky to be able to have a career that is in alignment with her values and the things that she believes in, and especially the continent she loves.
